Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Suite / Virtual Appliance "addWhiteListDomainStr" Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability


Description   William Costa has reported a vulnerability in Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Virtual Appliance and InterScan Messaging Security Suite, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
Input passed via the "addWhiteListDomainStr" POST parameter to /addWhiteListDomain.imss is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerability is reported in the following products and versions:
* Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Virtual Appliance version 8.5.1.1516. Prior versions may also be affected.
* Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Suite version 7.1.
