Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information, manipulate certain data, and conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) An error when parsing XML entities can be exploited to e.g. disclose content of arbitrary files via e.g. a Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attack.
2) Input passed via the "ErrorMsg" GET parameter to /console/Highlander_docs/SSO-Error.jsp is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
3) Input passed via the "uri" GET parameter to /portal/Loading.jsp is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
4) Input passed via the "ActionType" parameter to /servlet/ConsoleServlet is not properly sanitised before being used in the ServerLogger. This can be exploited to overwrite the contents of arbitrary local files via directory traversal sequences and subsequently cause a DoS condition or gain elevated privileges.
5) Certain unspecified input is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities are reported in versions 12.1.x prior to 12.1 RU5.
