A security issue and multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in the Spider Event Calendar plugin for WordPress, which can be exploited by malicious users to bypass certain security restrictions and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) The plugin does not properly restrict access to the "wp_ajax_spidercalendarinlineedit" and "wp_ajax_spidercalendarinlineupdate" AJAX actions, which can be exploited to access otherwise restricted calendar settings.
Note: This can further be exploited to conduct SQL injection attacks.
2) Input passed via the "page_number" and "serch_or_not" POST parameters to wp-admin/admin.php (when "page" is set to "SpiderCalendar") is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
3) Input passed via the "theme_id", "calendar_id", "ev_ids", and "eventID" GET parameters to wp-admin/admin.php (when "action" is set to "spiderbigcalendarrr") is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The security issue and the vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.3.0. Other versions may also be affected.
