Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in BGS CMS, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Input passed via the "search" parameter to index.php (when "action is set to "search") is not properly sanitised before being displayed to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
2) Input passed via the "section" parameter to index.php is not properly sanitised before being displayed to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
3) Input passed via the "redirect" POST parameter to index.php (when "section" is set to "categories" and "action" is set to "edit") is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.
4) Input passed via the "description" POST parameter to index.php (when "section" is set to "ads" and "action" is set to "edit") and to index.php (when "section" is set to "products" and "action" is set to "edit") is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.
5) Input passed via the "name" POST parameter to index.php (when "section" is set to "orders" and "action" is set to "edit") and to index.php (when "section" is set to "polls" and "action" is set to "edit") is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.
6) Input passed via the "url" POST parameter to index.php (when "section" is set to "banners" and "action" is set to "edit") is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.
7) Input passed via the "title" POST parameter to index.php (when "section" is set to "gallery" and "action" is set to "edit") is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities #3 through #7 require e.g. editor permissions.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 2.2.1. Other versions may also be affected.
