Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Spiceworks, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed via the "syslocation", "syscontact", and "sysName" attributes within a snmpd.conf file is not properly sanitised before being used after a SNMP scan. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site if malicious data is viewed.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 6.0.00964 and reported in version 5.3.75941. Other versions may also be affected.
