HomeSeer HS2 Cross-Site Request Forgery and Script Insertion Vulnerabilities

Description   Two vulnerabilities have been discovered in HomeSeer HS2, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery and script insertion attacks.
1) Input passed via the URL is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is being viewed.
2) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. execute commands on a system by tricking a user into visiting a malicious web site.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.5.0.23. Other versions may also be affected.
