DotNetNuke ClientAPI and Skin Object Script Insertion Vulnerabilities


Description   Two vulnerabilities have been identified in DotNetNuke, which could be exploited to conduct cross site scripting attacks. These issues are caused by input validation errors in the ClientAPI and the Language skin object when processing certain data, which could be exploited by attackers to cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the user's browser in the security context of an affected Web site.

Solution   Upgrade to DotNetNuke version 4.9.5 or 5.1.2 : http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/125/default.aspxVersion 5.1.2 contains additional defensive coding to harden the ClientAPI.
