OrangeHRM "empsearch[employee_name][empId]" Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability


Description   HauntIT has discovered a vulnerability in OrangeHRM, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
Input passed via the "empsearch[employee_name][empId]" POST parameter to /symfony/web/index.php/pim/viewEmployeeList is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerability is confirmed in versions 2.7.1 and 3.1.1. Other versions may also be affected.
